According to police information, at about 00:30hrs on Monday morning, four males (who are identifiable) armed with guns robbed the businessman of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Based on what this publication was told, the gunmen visited the home which the businessman shared with his wife and daughter and nephew who is also a member of the Guyana Police Force.

The nephew was awoken by two of the bandits who pointed a handgun to his chest and took him to the victim’s room and instructed him to tell the victim to open the bedroom door.

After the door was opened, the bandits told the businessman that they were police but a scuffle ensued and and one of the bandits discharged a round at the victim hitting him in the chest causing the businessman to fall to the ground.

The bandits then demanded money from their victim’s wife and also ransacked rooms before escaping.

Terrence Dickie was then picked up y his wife and nephew and escorted to the Georgetown Pblic Hospital by his wife and daughter where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

After ranks from the Police Criminal Investigation Department showed up at the scene to complement the efforts of ranks from Regional Division 4B, it was revealed that the bandits entered the home from a window in the lower flat.
