BREAKING NEWS: Wismar Tensions Erupt — Civilian Shot, Senior Cop Injured During Protest Clashes

April 8 2024 –A Wismar resident was shot and Assistant Superintendent of Police Colin Primus sustained injuries on Tuesday evening as clashes between protesters and riot police escalated over the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Ronaldo Peters.
The extent of the civilian’s injuries remains unconfirmed at this time. However, eyewitnesses on the ground describe the situation in Wismar as deteriorating rapidly, with tensions running high and scenes of chaos unfolding.
Protesters have reportedly been pelting law enforcement officers with stones and other objects, prompting riot police to respond with increased force.
In the midst of the unrest, a senior police official issued an urgent call for calm and restraint, urging residents to allow the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) to complete its investigation into Peters’ death.
