Police have detained a member of the Guyana Defence Force in connection with the murder of Donalesa Park, whose body was found wrapped in plastic at Courtland Village Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.

This was revealed by a senior official who said the rank is seconded at Camp Seweyo, up the Soesdyke/Linden highway.

He is said to be an acquaintance of the slain woman.

Park, 29 years old, of East Canje, Berbice, was found dead at around 07.00 hrs on Thursday, June 30.

A sister reportedly last saw her alive on Wednesday, June 29 at her home.

Park had reportedly told the sister she was going to Braid someone’s hair at Fort Ordinance, Canje, Berbice. However, when the sister contacted the woman at 6.00 hrs on Thursday, the individual said Park did not visit her but instead said she had to go to the Corentyne.
