Residents of Region 2 interact with Minister Ramson at Supenaam Stelling on Saturday

Minister of Culture Youth and Sport Charles Ramson on Saturday said that going forward all activities coming out of his ministry to observe religious or cultural events will see a multifaceted approach to the display of talents.

According to Ramson, it is his vision to have persons from all races and ethnicity and religious beliefs to take part in in cultural and religious events which are not traditional to them.

“We are trying to break down the walls and we don’t have the kind of sharing that should be going on in culture. What you will now find is that the programs coming out of the Ministry will have diversity and I want to encourage you to engage all races when you hold respective activities for your areas” the Culture Youth and Sports Minister noted.

The minister made the comments in Essequibo over the weekend where he met with a number of young people as part of visits to communities and their grounds as part of the ministry’s assessment of the facilities which are likely to benefit from the Ministry’s ground Enhancement program.

According to Ramson, there is a need to really knit the communities and by extension, the country together as Guyana irrespective of if persons want to admit it or not is divided in some quarters and pulling in different directions.

On Saturday the Ministry will be having a Diwali program at the National Culture which would see a fusion of cultural activities from a broad cross section of Guyana’s ethnic and cultural diversities.

The event would be held virtually.
