Police arrests 16 year-old for shooting death of boy

The police have arrested a 16 year- old in connection with the shooting death of 11 year-old Anthony Cort.

Cort was killed in Sophia, Georgetown on March 11.

The police are seeking legal advice on how to proceed with the matter as the 16 year old, a juvenile has been identified as a prime suspect in the shooting.

On the day, Cort was with his mother, two doors away from his home when masked gun men invaded the home of a businesswoman.

The boy was in the upper flat of the building as the robbery was in progress in the lower flat of the building.

Reports are that the victims were then ordered to the upper flat, Cort was exiting one of the bedrooms when one of the bandits discharged a round hitting him in the shoulder.
