Contractor stabbed while attempting to defend duo under attack

Forty-two-year-old Ganasham Singh was on Tuesday evening attacked and stabbed about his body after he attempted to prevent four men from attacking two men who are unknown to him.

The incident took place just after 22:00hrs Tuesday at Kersaint Park, LBI, East Coast Demerara. Ganasham lives at 133 Mon Repos, North, East Coast Demerara.

Ganasham Singh who works as a contractor told detectives that he was standing in front of a yard when he observed four males who he can identify, attacking two other persons.

He said he decided to intervene and suspects stabbed him about his and before making good their escape.

The man was rushed to the hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor who admitted him as a patient.

Police detectives however were able to arrest one man in connection with attack. That suspect has been identified as a 23-year-old of Mon Repos North, East Coast Demerara.
