A divorce can impact one’s life negatively but a New Amsterdam, Berbice single mother is refusing to allow her legal separation to define her life.

She has set out to prove that a negative life event can be turned into something positive.

38 year- old Wendy Fraser of Vryman’s Erven in New Amsterdam has been divorced for five years and is using her experience to inspire other women who might have had similar situations.

Fraser explained that she married at age 23. She recalling thinking that what she was experiencing was what a marriage should be.

She became pregnant with her first child during which her marriage began to fade the woman said, soon after she became a single mother with a two year old daughter.

Now armed with her experience she has put pen to paper with her second book “Fix Your Crown – Turning Pain into Power.”

The book seeks to empower women and speaks to the many pains and broken relationships whether it’s with family members or marriage Fraser told us.

“The book is teaching us that instead of using the pain to be wandering in sorrow all the time we can turn the pain into power and push our self, elevate our self,” Fraser said.

“The purpose is for them not to not look at there situation, of course when we go through stuff we gonna be hurt whatever, we gonna be down for days, weeks it determine on the person because everybody pain threshold is different because sometimes I would go through something and would take two of three months to deal with it while somebody else might go through the same but would take more time to recover but you don’t stay in that position, you elevate and move forward.”

The woman said that she used her experience as a stepping stone to many things, including qualifying herself.  She went back to school, further her studies and began writing more. She related that writing is what makes her happy prior to her divorce and decided to publish her stories after.

Fraser published her first book in 2019 called “Chosen Vessels” that sought to address the purpose of individuals.

To purchase her books, persons can make contact with Fraser on telephone number 674 8146.
