Assistant Commissioner of Police Andries Junor has been seconded from the Guyana Police Force to the Covid-19 Taskforce.

The move takes effect from Today, Friday. The Assistant Commissioner of Police reportedly received his letter of transfer on Thursday.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that all  benefits and other entitlement of an Assistant Commissioner of Police will remain intact although Andries will be functioning away from the Police environment.

The senior officer when contacted confirmed the move and said he is aware that the operations of the Covid-19 Taskforce is being expanded and a senior police officer is also needed there as part of the entire composition of the body.

Earlier this month, civilians Stan Gouevia and Mark Ramotar, broadcaster and journalist respectively, were named as the two who will be heading the Police Public Relations Department.

We were however informed that they have not actively taken over command of the office just yet.
