Man who traded bullets with cops arrested at private hospital

Twenty Four Year Old William De Abreu who traded bullets with the police on Monday on the East Coast of Demerara before escaping was found early this morning at the Woodlands Hospital seeking medical attention for gunshot wounds.

On Monday the police reported that acting on information, the intercepted a car with the suspect and others inside at Church Road Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara.

De Abreu who is wanted by the police for a series of robberies between Mahaica and Vigilance on the East Coast opened for on the police when they intercepted the vehicle he was in.

He ran from the police who give chase but he slipped through their fingers along with the other occupants of the vehicle.

About 01:00hrs on Tuesday morning the police acting on information visited the Woodlands Hospital and on arrival saw William De Abreu who was moments earlier treated for gunshot injury to his leg.

He was accompanied to the hospital by Eusi Bobb a 23 year old mason of Lot 52 Buxton and Abiola Murphy age 27 years.

They were all arrested and taken to the Brickdam Police Station and subsequently transferred to Cove and John Headquartets for further investigation.
