The US Currency

This publication was informed that when the police showed up at the location, they encountered the first-named individual and he was told of the reason for their visit.

While searching the premises, the other named individuals showed and were immediately taken into custody by the police. The search of the premises was conducted in the presence of the three men and it was there that the following items were discovered:

One 9 mm Taurus pistol with its serial number removed and sixty-four live rounds of ammunition, one .32 Taurus pistol with its serial number removed and thirty-eight live rounds of ammunition, one safe containing one Luger Prescott Pistol with its serial number intact along with a magazine and seven matching rounds of ammunition, four .380 and three 9mm ammunition, $40,000 Guyana currency and 300 United States Dollars.

A further check of the premises discovered another Safe with two Guyana Passports, one United States of America Passport, several bank cards, and one New York Driver’s License. The police also found $300,000 Guyana Currency, $2,300 US currencies, and four Cellular phones.

Two other guns and live ammunition which the police removed

Still continuing their search, the police came upon another gun, this time, a Taurus Ultra-Lite Snub Nose Revolver with its serial number removed along with twenty .32 rounds of live ammunition and a quantity of Gold Jewellery and $500,000 Guyana currency.

The young men told the police none of them are licensed firearm holders. They were told of the offense committed and then escorted to the police station where they continue to be grilled by the police. Carlos Waithe informed the ranks that his mother Carla Beveney, who resides at the address is in the interior.

Some of the items were found in a safe, it is unclear how the police got access to the safe and if the combination codes were provided to them, how the any of the young men who were detained could have access to a safe which housed firearms when they themselves are not licensed firearm holders and therefore should have any access to a safe in which the weapons and ammunition are being stored.
