STILL MISSING: Marvin and Vishnu

By Royan Abrams

The skeletal remains of a human were found Friday on the No.37 Village West Coast Berbice seashore and it is being suspected that the remains could be that of one of two fishermen who robbed, beaten and thrown overboard back in 2019 by pirates.

Detectives are not ruling out the possibility that the remains could be those of one of two fishermen from Port Mourant on the Corentyne Coast who are still missing after they were slaughter at sea back in October 2019. During that attack, four of the fishermen who were killed were thrown into the water.

20-year-old Vishnu Seeram of Miss Phoebe Port Mourant and 20-year-old Marvin Tamesar of Ankerville Port Mourant were the fishermen who were never found.

However, the bodies of 36-year-old Kawal Kissoon of Letter Kenny village and 20 years old Lamar Petrie of Miss Phoebe Port Mourant were recovered along the Abary West Coast Berbice Foreshore.

Detectives in Berbice are said to call in their forensic experts to assist in concluding the identity of the remains through the taking of samples and other means.

BIG Smith News Watch understands that at approximately 11:30hrs on Friday a cattle farmer who was in the area tending to his cattle, stumble on the skull, a further search revealed bones scattered in the close proximity of where the skull was found.

Regional Commander Yonette Stephens confirmed the development and stated that a post-mortem would have to be conducted as well as DNA tests before the police can definitely pronounce on whose remains have been found.

“At this point, we don’t know who it is, we have no reports of any missing persons but we would have to do some tests and wait because the body could have washed up there from anywhere” the commander added.

After the remains were found by the cattle farmer, the police were called in and they removed the same as part of their investigations.
