Fizal Karimbaksh raped me, threaten to kill me- Female cop says in statement

A female Guyana Police Force Inspector on Monday September 28, 2026, has made an official police report and provided a statement, in which she details a pattern of emotional, mental and physical abuse and rape, committed on her by Deputy Commissioner of Police Fizal Karimbaksh, who also heads the Special Organized Crime Unit.

According to the police officer, the first incident of rape took place inside the Guyana Police Force Headquarters at Eve Leary, where Fizal Karimbaksh was issued with an official living quarters as a senior cop.

During that first encounter, the police officer was ordered to remove her clothing, and Karimbaksh began having sex with her against her will.

According to Guyana’s Sexual Offences Act, during any sexual encounter, if the other party says to stop and the second party continues the act, the law considers it rape.

This is not the first time sexual allegations have been leveled against the officer, but each time, the Guyana Police Force fails to deal with the matter in ways to convey a message that such actions and practices are unwelcome within the organization.

According to the statement the female inspector gave to the police on Monday, another encounter of rape took place while she and others were on a police training program.

Fizal Karimbaksh entered the room she was staying without her consent and began having sex with her against her will.

It was also in her statement that the junior police rank spoke of threats made on her life on multiple occasions by Fizal Karimbaksh, whom she said pulled a gun and pointed it to her head on one occasion in the presence of her mother, and another time where he told her he would write her name on a bullet if she ever ended the ‘relationship’.

Based on her statement to the police, the threats and sexual, emotional and mental harassment and rape continued, and she remained silent and subjected herself to all of it because of fear.

It was not until she gained the courage and support of her family members after telling them what was going on that she visited the Minister of Home Affairs, Oneidge Walrond.

In her statement, the female police rank also spoke of being picked up in motor vehicle PXX 73, which was at the time being driven by Fizal Karimbaksh.

A check with our sources at the Guyana Revenue Authority revealed that the vehicle, an SUV, was indeed registered to Fizal Karimbaksh, with the address listed as Lot 34 Lochaber, Canje, Berbice.

According to the policewoman, she was subjected to this treatment after she wrote the police entry examination and was not getting feedback with respect to starting actual police training.

She was then sent to Fizal Karimbaksh who was at the time the deputy force training officer. He collected her number and according to her, two days after he messaged her inappropriately and told her that he liked her.

Based on evidence seen by this publication, the Deputy Commissioner of Police was also in the habit of trailing and stalking the woman, and even followed her and her boyfriend around on September 06, 2024, where he threatened her that if she ‘leaves him’, he would kill her.

The woman has since reported the matter to the Minister of Home Affairs, as indicated, as well as the Commissioner of Police, and has provided the police with a detailed statement in relation to what she has been going through.
