Fire destroys Update Trendz Setter Boutique on Robb Street

A fire on Friday morning destroyed the building housing Update Trendz Setter Boutique at Lot 84 Robb Street, Georgetown, after flames engulfed the premises.
According to the Guyana Fire Service, Water Tenders #130 and #131, Water Carriers #20, #26 and #30, and Ambulance #25, along with crews from the Headquarters, Campbellville and Eccles Fire Stations were dispatched.
Firefighters encountered the building fully engulfed in flames on arrival. Through coordinated firefighting efforts, the blaze was brought under control and eventually extinguished. Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond was also present at the scene during the firefighting operations.
Firefighters are currently carrying out mop-up operations to eliminate remaining hotspots and prevent any possible rekindling.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
