Another home burglarised at Enterprise Backlands

A man working on his new home at the Enterprise Backlands New Housing Scheme was left with over $500,000 in equipment loss after his house was reportedly burglarised on Sunday afternoon.

Trevor Colette, a mechanic of Enterprise Backlands, said the incident occurred early Sunday morning, he had been carrying out grill work in his partially finished home.

He had left the equipment inside the locked building and later discovered that several items had been stolen.

Among the missing property are electrical tools, an angle grinder, electric saws, a generator, car seats and other supplies, some of which were imported from overseas.

The man said his total estimated loss is over $500,000.

Colette reported the matter at the nearby police outpost before being referred to the Vigilance Police Station, where he provided a statement and said he has been cooperating with investigators.

According to Colette, no fingerprints were recovered at the scene, raising concerns that the perpetrators may have been experienced or skilled thieves.

The burglary reportedly occurred about three streets away from a previous break-in at the home of Amena Elliot.
