Claymone King, a 60-year-old goods vendor and resident of Arakaka, Region One, is among the persons who were onboard the distressed MV Barima, which sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while travelling from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.

His son-in-law, Orlanzo Melville, told BIG Smith News Watch that King, who currently resides in Baramita, was travelling aboard the MV Barima to spend time with his family when the vessel sank.

Melville said King was last seen onboard the vessel and the family has not received any further information about his whereabouts.

The family is appealing for any information that could assist in locating the 60-year-old as the search continues for those missing from the MV Barima.
