Five residents of Region One have been fined after being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

The individuals—Louina Garraway, Ron Fernandes, Kelimo English, Jamal Graham, and Adrean Garett—were arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while their breath alcohol levels exceeded the prescribed limit.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, the accused appeared at the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Clive Nurse.

The charge was read to each of them, and all five pleaded guilty.

They were each fined $200,000, with a default sentence of five months’ imprisonment if the fine is not paid.
