Work together or bore holes in the GPF- Pres. Ali to police

“In the next five years, our joint services can look forward to higher wages and salaries, support in owning their own homes, expanded scholarship opportunities, childcare facilities, greater opportunities for promotion, expanded access to healthcare, recreational facilities, and a healthier working environment.”

This, according to the incumbent People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), one day before early voting for members of the joint services, namely police and army ranks.

The party, in a last-minute appeal to the ranks, said, “…just as you protect our nation, we are committed to ensuring that your families live in safety and security as well.”

As such, “…we recognise your vital role, and we will continue to equip and support you so that both your service and your loved ones are safeguarded with dignity and pride.”

Adamant it has, “restored dignity, improved conditions, and provided the tools you need to serve our beloved Guyana with pride,” the party insisted, “…we have kept our promise to you.

The party reminded that “…over the past five years, we have restored the one-month tax-free bonus, resulting in $2 billion more per year to the disciplined services; We increased salaries, adjusted the pay scale upward, accelerated promotions, improved working conditions, provided more training and scholarship,s and much more.”

Arguing that better-resourced ranks mean a safer country, the party argues, “When you have the right tools, training, and support, Guyana is safer. When your families are cared for, your service grows stronger.”

With this in mind, the PPP/C proffers, “the track record, the vision, and the will to deliver; we have proven—time and again—that we act, not just speak.”

Members of the Joint Services who are unable to vote on Friday, it’s official gazetted day for early voting ranks would still be able to cast their ballot on September 1.

According to the Guyana Elections Commission, 10,481 ranks are listed to vote, including 6,909 ranks from the Guyana Police Force, 3,106 from the Guyana Defence Force, and 466 from the Guyana Prison Service.
