Fatal Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 19-Y-O in Diamond

April 21, 2025 – Police are investigating a fatal road incident that occurred late Monday night on the Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist.
The deceased has been identified as Ricardo Melville, a resident of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara. Reports indicate that the incident occurred at approximately 23:50 hours while Melville was traveling south along the eastern carriageway of the Diamond Public Road.
According to initial investigations, Melville was allegedly riding at a high speed when he lost control of his motorcycle, bearing registration number CL 4491, and collided with a concrete culvert located on the eastern parapet of the roadway.
Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the scene and transported Melville—who was found unconscious—to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre. He succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.
The body has since been taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash are ongoing.
