Electrician jailed for simple larceny
September 27, 2024 – Sharmo Jones, a 34-year-old electrician from the Plaisance Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara (ECD), has been sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to charges of simple larceny.
The offense, which was committed against the Ministry of Housing and Water, occurred between January and September 2024 at the LBI New Housing Scheme, ECD.
Jones appeared before Magistrate A. Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was formally read.
After pleading guilty, he was handed a one-year prison sentence for the crime.
