In a ceremony held last Friday, CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited (CPGL) awarded the second round of petroleum science scholarships to four distinguished Guyanese students: Shanae Henry, Delicia Cameron, Rasheeda Daniels, and Hailie Caesar.

These scholarships, funded by CPGL in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources, will enable the recipients to pursue their studies in petroleum science in China.

This initiative marks the second round of scholarships offered through this prestigious program, following the inaugural round in 2023. The scholarship recipients were selected through a rigorous nationwide competition, reflecting their exceptional academic achievements and potential in the field of petroleum science.

The comprehensive scholarships cover all educational, transportation, and living expenses, ensuring the students can focus fully on their studies.

Upon completion of their degrees, the scholars will commit to working for either the Ministry of Natural Resources or CPGL for a period of five years, contributing their expertise to the development of Guyana’s petroleum sector.

This program underscores CPGL’s commitment to supporting educational advancement and professional development within Guyana, fostering a new generation of experts in the burgeoning petroleum industry.
