Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, accompanied by Zulfikar Mustapha, Minister of Agriculture, and Sonia Parag, Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, conducted a visit to Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) yesterday.

Their primary objective was to distribute cash grants to local business owners, a vital initiative aimed at bolstering economic activity in the area.

During the visit, Agriculture Department staff were afforded the opportunity to engage in discussions and interact with Minister Mustapha and his team following the distribution program.

This exchange provided a valuable platform for sharing insights and addressing pertinent issues within the agricultural sector.

The presence of government officials underscores the administration’s commitment to supporting small businesses and fostering economic growth at the regional level.
