Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, his driver and a Regional Councilor were rushed for medical attention following an accident in West Coast Berbice.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the minister and a team were wrapping up an activity of bringing Christmas cheers to children and families when the accident occurred.

As the team was heading West along the West Coast Berbice public road, a car that was speeding in the opposite direction, ended up in the lane the minister’s and other vehicles were traveling.

The driver missed colliding with a vehicle that was in-front of the minister and collided with the one the minister was in. It also slightly caused impact damage to another vehicle which was traveling behind the one Minister Mustapha was in.

Police sources have indicated that the driver told them he attempted to swerve from a vehicle which stopped in-front of him hence the collision.

According to information reaching this publication, there are no life threatening injuries to those involved in the crash.

The police investigations are ongoing.
