Police are investigating a shooting committed on a 24-year-old businessman at his Riverview Ruimveldt Residence.

Investigations revealed that on Monday at approximately 23:20hrs, the victim and his wife were inside of their shop which is in front of his house, when he observed two approaching his shop.

As they reached his shop, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun from his waist and discharged a round in his direction, but the bullet did not hit him. The victim and his wife immediately ran into their yard and took cover.

The suspects then made good their escape east of Riverview, on foot and continued South on Ruimveldt Public Road.

A report was made to the police and acting on information received they went to Norton and Chapel Streets, Lodge where two 28-year-old males were contacted.

As the ranks were approaching the men, they observed one took out a handgun from his right-side pants waist and threw it on the ground. The said firearm was retrieved and it was observed to be a 9MM pistol with a magazine containing 3 live 9MM ammunition. They were told of the offences committed, arrested and cautioned and are currently in custody as further investigations are in progress.
