Hit and run victim in critical condition at ICU.

52-year-old Allan Downes of Oleander Gardens, East Coast Demerara, remains in a critical condition at the Georgetown Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Downes was the victim of a hit and run which occurred last Monday on the Rupert Craig Highway in the vicinity of UG Road at approximately 5:30am.

The vehicle involved in Downes’s hit and run.

The driver of the vehicle, Budhram Heeralall was apprehended at approximately 10am on the same day and taken in custody at the Turkeyen Police Station, where he has remained, pending investigations.

This publication spoke to the victim’s son, Daniel Downes who informed us of his father’s condition at this time.
