Bhim Ramkissoon, 28, is a final year law student at The University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus who was raised in Corentyne Berbice.

He gained his education at Massiah Primary School and Skeldon Line Path Secondary School where he excelled as a top student in both his Common Entrance (2006) and CSEC (2011) exams.

Ramkissoon started attending the University of Guyana, Tain Campus, just after completing his secondary education, pursuing a Diploma in Social Work.

He then began his teaching career at the Tagore Memorial Secondary School as a Social Studies teacher.

The death of his father in March 2013 made life increasingly difficult as he began living alone while working and furthering his studies.

Bhim managed to successfully complete his Diploma in Social Work and went on to attain his Bachelor’s Degree in the same field graduating in 2015.

In 2018, Bhim resigned from his post as a teacher and moved to Georgetown where he commenced his studies in Law.

Financial constraints forced him to take a leave of absence for a few semesters, but he resumed his studies successfully in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic and started classes via zoom.

Ramkissoon is presently in the final semester of his final year and will be graduating this year.

He is also the guidance and counselling officer at Tagore Memorial Secondary School and a part-time cricket coach under the Berbice Cricket Board.

He aspires to open a private counselling centre to help those suffering from depression and other mental illnesses, considering the relatively high suicide rate in Guyana, with Berbice producing the majority of the cases, fitting; as he is also a trained Youth Leader and successful participant for the President’s Youth Award.

Bhim worked as a Child Protection Officer from 2020-2021 and then as a reporter at Kaieteur News in 2020.

The ever-ambitious young man credits himself as an excellent chef, and believes in self-sustainability, as he is an active advocate of environmental protection.

He has high hopes that the opportunity to participate in the Mr. India Guyana pageant can impact his ability to make a difference and be heard, to inspire people to value their life and the opportunities they have.
