$1.13B in contracts inked to advance Agriculture sector

Twenty-Four contracts totaling $1,130,817,572, were signed by several agencies attached to the Ministry of Agriculture to further develop the sector.

Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha urged contractors to commence works as soon as possible in order for the projects to be completed in a timely manner.

Seven contracts were signed by The Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) for the supply of critical equipment and other materials as part of the government’s efforts to revitalize the sugar industry.

While the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) signed 13 contracts that will see the construction and rehabilitation of critical infrastructure.

Contracts were also signed by the New Guyana Marketing Corporation, (GMC), the Fisheries Department, and the Mahaica-Mahaicony Abary – Agricultural Development Authority (MMA – ADA) for the supply of materials, construction, and the provision of services.
