President Guard found on roadside with injuries to head

Hospitalized: Police Constable Winston Cooper

A member of the Guyana Police Force who is attached to the Presidential Guard was this morning found in an in an unconscious state on the roadside.

According to a statement from the force, Police Constable 24045 Winston Cooper 32 of lot 761 East Ruimveldt was found on Mandela Avenue with injuries to his head at approximately 05.30hrs.

The young policeman was picked up and rushed for medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

The police force has promised to provide a further update with details on this particular matter as they become available.

The Guyana Police Force prays for his recovery, the statement concluded.
