The University of Guyana on Friday launched a two-day virtual open day and Job fair. The event which is being hosted on Friday and Saturday from 09:00h to 17:00h, seeks to provide all the necessary career, application, and registration guidance to interested persons.

The event according to the university “will support economic well-being for students, alumni and the public by adding of a job center. This will allow graduates and other job seekers to access employment and internship opportunities from leading companies and organizations operating in Guyana.”

The Big Smith News watch was told that the event will also seek to link companies and organizations with potential employees. “Graduates and other job seekers could access a listing of vacancies and they could seek to have further engagements where they could submit an application and schedule an interview for a job,” Public Relations Officer Krest Cummings said.

Further, prospective students will be educated about student services offered by the Institution, and how they could cope effectively with the demands of tertiary education.

The event is open free of cost to prospective students, parents, University staff and current students, alumni, partners and sponsors, and all other interested persons. The event can be attended using the link   https://UGcareersuccessfair.uog.edu.gy.

The 59-year-old University of Guyana offers over 150 programmes across 50 disciplines at the Pre-University, Diploma, Degree, Master’s Degree, and Doctoral Levels.
