Essequibo businessman and porter dies in BuckHall crash

Reports are that a ‘TM’ truck which is owned and operated by an Essequibo Coast man, crashed along the trail back Buck Hall on Wednesday night, killing the businessman and a porter.

According to reports reaching this publication, businessman Nigel Headley, age 50 of Zorg, and a porter were pinned under the truck.

The man’s brother , Wesley Headley, and another man, Melvern Thomas, sustained injuries during the accident.

The men were on board the truck when it ran off the muddy roadway, some 53 miles aback Buck Hall on the Essequibo River.

The truck was fetching a load of lumber at the time and the men vwere still pinned under the weight of the truck at daybreak on Thursday.

Family members received a call sometime around 9:00 pm on Wednesday night that an accident had occurred.

Police have been dispatched to the area to investigate.
