Man Fatally Shot in Bagotstown; Police Launch Manhunt for Suspect
April 30 2025- The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Mark Anthony Benjamin, who was gunned down Tuesday evening on Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara.
The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. on April 29, 2025. Preliminary reports indicate that Benjamin was shot in the head following an altercation with the suspect, identified as Hosea Salmon. The two men were reportedly known to each other.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Police have since intensified efforts to locate and apprehend him.
Benjamin was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Memorial Gardens Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is pending.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward as investigations continue.
