22-Y-O working aboard MV Barima among those missing

Antoine Harcourt, a 22-year-old resident of Lichfield Village, West Coast Berbice, is among the crew members of the distressed MV Barima who remain missing after the vessel sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while travelling from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.
His sister-in-law, Nikita Harcourt, told BIG Smith News Watch that Antoine was part of the vessel’s crew and that the family has not heard from him since the incident.
She said the last communication from Harcourt was received yesterday, and the family is now anxiously awaiting any information on his whereabouts.
“We haven’t heard from him,” Harcourt’s family said as they continue to hope for news.
