Carlos Evans, 31, has been arrested by the Regional Assistance Team in Paramaribo Suriname on Saturday.

Carlos and his deceased brother Medellin have been wanted by the Guyanese police for robbery since 2020.

The brothers allegedly shot and killed Guyanese businessman Tony Bisnauth, who had been celebrating his 78th birthday outside his company with family and friends in Berbice.

They then proceeded to rob persons at the party of jewellery, money and personal belongings.

The brothers managed to flee to neighbouring Suriname.

An article from https://www.waterkant.net, said that last week, Carlos was reported after he hit a man in the face with a handgun.  After detailed information by the Directorate of National Security (DNV) and the Surinamese police, the suspect was spotted at an address in Combe, Suriname where he was arrested and transferred to the police station for arraignment.

During the arrest, a handgun with ammunition was found and seized.

Last September Medellin Evans was stabbed to death in front of a nightclub on Eugene Van Gesselstraat, in Suriname.

Investigations are in process to determine if Carlos has committed any other criminal offenses in Suriname.
