Taxi driver killed in Soesdyke–Linden accident

DEAD: Mark Cameron

A male taxi driver was on Friday morning killed in an accident on the Soesdyke–Linden Highway. Dead is 29-years-old Mark Cameron of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown.

Police in a statement said Cameron was speeding in motorcar PVV 8399 north along the western side of the highway when he lost control and ended up onto the eastern parapet and turned turtle. As a result, the driver was hurtled from the car. He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Occupants of the car Quakey Stanford age 38yrs of lot 133 Guyhoc Park, Calldella Marshal age 25 yrs of lot 5 Stevedore Housing Scheme and Shemika Richards age 23yrs of lot 83 Laing Avenue East Ruimveldt sustained injuries about their bodies. They were also taken to the Diamond hospital where they are receiving treatment.

by a doctor on duty while the occupants are presently receiving treatment.

The body is presently lying at the Memorial Gardens awaiting post mortem examination.

The passengers were rushed to the hospital as the investigation continues.
