Security Guard Charged with Murder of Rondell Clarke

A 25-year-old security guard has been formally charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Rondell Clarke earlier this month.
The accused, Messiah Mussenden, a resident of Buxton/Friendship, East Coast Demerara, was arrested by police on June 8, 2025, following the incident which occurred at Foulis, East Coast Demerara.

On Friday, June 13, Mussenden was charged with the capital offence by a rank from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Major Crime Investigation Unit.
He appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read. As is customary for indictable offences, Mussenden was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to prison.
The case has been postponed to July 15, 2025, and transferred to the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court for the filing of statements and further reporting.
Police have not disclosed additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but investigations remain ongoing.
