Richmondville Home Owners Association formed in response to Luxury Realty Inc.'s poor standards" AGM set for Sunday

The entrance (A far cry from what the developers promised to homeowners) to Richmondville Housing Development

In every bad situation, a sliver lining is often found and the situation, in this case, is no different. Persons who spent much of their life’s savings and earnings to purchase plots of land at Providence from Luxury Realty Inc. were forced to properly register a Homeowners Association to look after their interests and infrastructure within the Richmondville Housing Development.

Luxury Realty Inc. has been making promises to residents that certain key commitments within signed contracts at the purchase of the lands in the community, would be honored but as years go by, the promises of the developers remain just being promises while the hope of residents and faith in the developers continue to fade.

Residents and property owners of the Richmondville Housing Development took a decision to form the Homeowners Association last week so that management of the community’s affairs and the overseeing of its infrastructural development would be supervised by this Association which is expected to lobby the developer, Luxury Realty Inc. to fulfill several aspects of its contractual agreement with residents, agreements, many of which are being honored in the breach by the developer.

WHAT PRESENTLY OBTAINS IN LUXURY REALTY INC. RICHMONDVILLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

On Sunday, August 08, 2021, the Homeowners Association will be having its first Annual General Meeting at the Muslim Youth Organisation building on Woolford Avenue. The meeting starts at 15:00hrs.

Holding the developer accountable, security, community rules, infrastructure and the nomination and election of officer bearers are among the key areas which are expected to initially take the focus point during Sunday’s AGM.

Many persons in the community have already pledged their support to work along with the Homeowners Association so that their community can eventually arrive at the finished product which was promised to them by the developers during the discussion and sale of lands.

At the moment, there is not a single pitch or concrete road within the housing development  Up to recently, streets within the community were unlit but improvements in that area were seen after residence put the developer’s back against a wall during a meeting to have clarity on several broken and unfulfilled promises to residents and homeowners.

A large percentage of the residents have not been seeing eye to eye with the developer and its representatives. This has resulted in legal proceedings being initiated against the developer while several police reports were made against representatives of Luxury Realty Inc.

CRIMINALLLY CHARGED: Dhanmattie Shamyaraj

Just last week, Dhan Shemaraj, the property Manager for Richmondville Housing Development was criminally charged and is before the court for the wrongful restraint of journalist Leroy Smith who lives in the community.

Shemaraj along with a security guard were placed on bail for the offense. Shemaraj had asked the court to allow her to pay the $50,000 bail in two installments after claiming that she did not have all the money to bail herself and the security guard.

Shamraj was informed by the court that the process of bail is not done in that way but if she so desires, that can be arranged but either herself or the security guard would have to remain in custody until the bail was completely paid. The woman mysteriously found the correct amount of bail to secure her pre-trial liberty.
