Fire of unknown origin erupted in the Guyana Police Headquarters, Eve Leary Kingston on Saturday afternoon. Reports are that the Office of Professional Responsibility which is housed in the building has been destroyed.
The same building houses the office of the Director of Public Prosecution. As fire officers battle the rage, some files as other documents have been removed from the building and were seen being transported from the compound.

This is the second major fire at a police station and or office in a matter of weeks. Only a few weeks ago, fire destroyed the Brickdam Police Station.
