Detectives in the Police Regional Division 4A are in a tight spot and will definitely have to rely on the results of a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death of 23-year-old Navendra Samaroo who was driving through middle road at the time.

Samaroo died at the Georgetown Public Hospital after being shot to the right arm in an apparent robbery. The police are however not immediately treating the death as a robbery related one as they are baffled as to how someone who is shot in the arm would succumb.

They are however not ruling out the possibility of the victim being plunged into anxiety or shock as a result of being shot. Police sources confirmed that there was no exit wound for the bullet to the right arm which the victim sustained.

The incident took place on Middle Street as the man was returning to work at G&J Phone Cards Investment which is located on Mandela Avenue.

Speaking with this father at the crime scene Thursday afternoon, the man who did not want to mention his name, indicated that he was at work when he received a call from his niece saying that his son was shot. The middle-aged man explained that when he arrived at the scene his son had already left for the hospital and he decided to race down there.

Once there he was not immediately able to see his son but once that time arrived, the young man was already pronounced dead.

The father of the dead man told BIG Smith News Watch that his son leaves to mourn a wife. He said that he will not be leaving the matter untouched until justice is served even as he expressed confidence in the police to solve the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

A brother of the deceased said that he too was at work when he received a visit from a relative to inform him that his brother was shot and killed.

The grieving sibling noted that prior to that while at work, he and co-workers were watching clips of a video on social media about the shooting in Middle Street but he was unaware that his brother was the victim.

The police investigations into the matter are ongoing eve as a number of CCTV footage is being reviewed.
