Cane Grove woman murdered by husband in drop-cord argument

MURDERED: Somattie Keasoram

Police detectives in Region 4C are investigating the murder of a domestic worker who was murdered by her husband late Thursday evening following an argument.

The dead woman has been identified as 44-year-old Somattie Keasoram of 36 Virginia Village Cane Grove Mahaica East Coast Demerara.

Details surrounding much of the incident are sketchy at this time but we were told that the woman and her husband Terrence Jackson called ‘God Son’ were having an argument over a drop cord.

Things escalated and the man armed himself with a knife and stabbed the woman several times to the chest before cutting her throat, she was rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Up to the time of this report, we could not confirm if the suspect was arrested by the police.

The police investigations are ongoing and it is unclear if the suspect is in police custody at this time.
