–Community employment and involvement crucial

In keeping with promises made by President Irfaan Ali, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Deodat Indar paid a visit to Plaisance Village on the East Coast Demerara, where 12 contracts were signed to commence works in the community and surrounding areas.

The Minister visited the community with a team from his ministry to address pressing matters, and assured the residents what works are expected to commence in the soonest possible time.

Various sections of the area is expected to receive rehabilitation and remedial works under the Government of Guyana’s commitment to its manifesto in maintaining and upkeeping every community in the country.

Minister Indar committed to have residents employed on these projects and for them to be paid a workable wage, noting that the same initiatives have been applied, as promised by the President in his visits, to every other community.
