The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has come under heavy criticism for not allowing the national team, the Golden Jaguars, to commence training with just over a month remaining for the biggest football competition in CONCACAF, the Gold Cup preliminary games against Grenada.

Many are accusing the GFF of setting up the team to fail.

The GFF’s decision to delay the national team’s training camp has caused outrage among fans and football enthusiasts.

Persons believe the team needs to be adequately prepared to compete at the highest level, and without proper training, they are likely to face difficulties on the field.

Public opinion on social platforms claim that the GFF’s lack of planning and preparation has been a recurring problem for the national team. The federation has been criticized for its failure to provide the team with the necessary resources and support to perform at their best.

Despite the upcoming Gold Cup preliminary games looming closer each day, measures have not been taken to ensure that the team is adequately prepared and when contacted, even some team members have expressed concern on the matter.

Reports indicate that the team has not been provided with any friendly matches, which would have been useful in helping them gain valuable experience and prepare for the tournament.

It has been alleged that the GFF’s lack of commitment to the national team has been a long-standing issue, and persons are calling for the federation to take responsibility as the team represents the entire country, and it is imperative that the GFF provides them with the necessary resources and support to perform at their best.

Fans are worried that the Golden Jaguars may fail at the upcoming Gold Cup preliminary games against Grenada. As our national team is unprepared and at a disadvantage.
