Chief Elections Officer, Keith Lowenfield handed over the Statements of Poll and Statements of Recount to the Registrar of the High Court on Wednesday morning. Speaking to the media briefly, the CEO confirmed that Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, Justice Claudette Singh is in the court building observing the process. .

The CEO also told the media that the handing over of the documents is in in accordance with a High Court order by Justice Roxane George. The Court is schedule to start hearings on the election petition in the coming months. A Partnership For National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) filed two election petitions challenging the results of the March 2, 2020 general and regional elections, one has since been dismissed due to improper service.

The documents being handed over are expected to be with the court for safe-keeping.
