Central Corentyne Secondary Student Dies in Accident

A 16-year-old student of the Central Corentyne Secondary School died on Friday evening following a tragic road accident as she and several classmates were returning home from the Regional Sports Championship.
The student has been identified as Jodea Seline of Limlair Village, Corentyne. She reportedly died while receiving treatment at the No. 75 Village Regional Hospital.
Regional Commander Shivpersaud Bacchus confirmed the fatality and said the driver of the vehicle remains in critical condition at the same hospital. Several other students were injured in the crash and are currently receiving medical care.
Investigators have begun probing the circumstances surrounding the accident, though details remain limited. Commander Bacchus said more information will be released as the investigation continues.
