BREAKING: Two elections, two chairs and one seat; Drama in Police Association elections

SECOND INCOMING: Returned as Chair, previous Chair of the Police Association Woman Inspector Forde

Moments after the Guyana Police Force announced the results of its elections that named Inspector Narine as the chairman for the Police Association, another chairman has emerged, or rather ‘re-emerged’ in the person previous chairman woman Inspector Forde.

BREAKING: Two elections, two chairs and one seat; Drama in Police Association elections

Police officers who are up for elections on the second body

Forde was re-elected as head of the Police Association following a second election in the same building where the first election was held moments before. Woman Sergeant David has been elected Vice-Chair, Woman Corporal Cadogan was elected as Secretary Woman Corporal Gittens elected as Assistant Secretary, Constable Samuel has been elected as the assistant treasurer.

It is unclear what has prompted the re-do of the election ad which Association will be recognized as legitimate and which one will be recognized as the bogus Association.

On the national scheme of things, the Guyana Police Force is tasked with ensuring law and order, especially in pre-and post-election periods when results and the will of the majority are not accepted by one side. In the case of the police and its double election that produced two chairs, who will maintain law and order is to be seen.
