Police detectives from the Guyana Police Force Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday formally put rape allegations to rape accused Fizal Karimbaksh, the controversial Deputy Commissioner of Police, who a policewoman said raped her on two occasions and placed a gun to her head and threatened to kill her.
BIG Smith News Watch has been reliably informed that Karimbaksh denied the allegations and informed the police detectives that he will submit his statement through his attorney-at-law.
Fizal Karimbaksh currently serves as a Deputy Commissioner of Police and is married, with a wife and children, including daughters. The family also runs a construction company in Berbice Region 6.
This is not the first time that Fizal Karimbaksh is faced with allegations against him for unwanted sexual advances towards young, vulnerable police officers. In fact, allegations of sexual harassment have been made against him spanning five Commissioners of Police and Police Administrations. Each time, the system failed the victims, who got no justice.
A five-page report dated March 23, 2020, detailed allegations of unwanted sexual advances which he, Fizal Karimbaksh, made towards female police recruits in 2019.
It was also noted that based on the posture of Karimbaksh, he would present himself at police functions where those appearances are used to spot young police officers who, some very fresh out of school, their numbers would either be requested directly or indirectly and within days and hours, they would find themselves getting strange and suspicious calls and messages from the senior officer.
There was also another sexual allegation made against Fizal Karimbaksh by another female police officer in 2016. According to that policewoman, she received no justice in the matter.
Now that the allegations of rape have been properly and formally put to Fizal Karimbaksh, it is reasonably expected, based on established procedures, that Fizal Karimbaksh be removed from active duty while he awaits the deliberations of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
