2.5kg cannabis found at Pouderoyen

Police have recovered 2.5 kilograms of suspected cannabis from bushes at Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara.
The discovery was made around 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, during a patrol in the area.
According to police, ranks observed a man carrying a black plastic bag and acting suspiciously. Upon noticing the police vehicle, the man allegedly dropped the bag into nearby bushes and fled.
Ranks retrieved the bag and found it containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspected narcotics were taken to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station, where they were weighed and amounted to 2.5 kilograms.
No arrest has been made as investigations continue.
