Chinese National killed in BV accident

A Chinese national was killed earlier this evening, following a tragic collision on the Beterverwagting Public Road after being struck by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross the roadway.
Reports indicate that the woman had just exited the nearby Ansa McAL supermarket when she stepped onto the busy road and was hit by a passing vehicle.
The impact was severe, and she was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
Her identity has not yet been officially confirmed by police. However, a document found in her purse bearing the name Xin Hao Zhang is believed to be that of the deceased.
Emergency responders and police ranks arrived on the scene shortly after the incident as investigations got underway into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
The vehicle involved is reported to be a silver Toyota Fielder wagon, registration number HD 5540.
Investigations are ongoing.
