Police launch manhunt for escaped prisoner

A remanded prisoner has escaped from the Lusignan Prison, East Coast Demerara, prompting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The escape reportedly occurred sometime between 08:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs on Sunday. The inmate has been identified as Adrian Damder of Graham Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.
Damder had been remanded to the Lusignan Prison since January 14, 2026, on two counts of threatening language.
Authorities are continuing investigations and additional details are expected to be released as they become available.
