Police are investigating a fatal incident that occurred yesterday around 15:30 hrs on the Ifill Access Road/Trail at Eyelash Backdam, North West District, Region #1.

The incident involved an unregistered All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) driven by 39-year-old Devon Moralis.

According to initial reports, Moralis, a resident of Wauna, Region #1, was driving alone towards Providence Backdam when he lost control of the ATV while navigating a left bend at high speed. The ATV veered off to the southern side of the road, while Moralis was thrown to the northern side and remained motionless.

Concerned individuals alerted the police, who responded promptly along with Dr. Amadi from Matthew’s Ridge Public Hospital. Dr. Amadi examined Moralis at the scene and pronounced him dead.

The body has been transported to the Port Kaituma Public Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing
