DEAD: Midwife Eon Reddock

An early morning accident in Linden between a car and an ambulance attached to the Linden Hospital Complex has left two persons dead.

BIG Smith Crime Watch has been told that among the dead is a male nurse whose name was given as Eon Reddock who was travelling in the ambulance at the time of the accident. Another nurse is said to be hospitalised while the driver of the car is also dead.

Sources at the Linden Hospital Complex related that the ambulance left the hospital to transport a pregnant woman to the Georgetown Public Hospital after she began developing complications.

Police sources related that the ambulance was returning from Georgetown while the car was heading to Georgetown when the crash took place at Obama Drive, Linden at approximately 03:40hrs on Saturday morning.

The accident and deaths come two weeks after a police car slammed into a motorcar resulting in five deaths which prompted a Board of Inquiry which was ordered by President David Granger.

That BOI report was handed over the president recently and among the recommendations made were a review of the manner in which emergency vehicles use their sirens. However it must be noted that at the time of filing this report, there was no confirmation as to if the ambulance was using its siren when the two vehicles collided.

Police investigations into this latest accident are still ongoing.
