Pork Knocker Murdered at Arakaka, North West District

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating a murder at Jonnel Gaskin’s Shop in 5 Miles, Arakaka, North West District, The incident reportedly occurred last night at approximately 11:00pm.

 

The victim was identified as Trevor Hilliman, a pork knocker hailing from 5 Miles Arakaka and Lot 14 Public Road, Poudroyen, West Coast Demerara.

 

The suspect, Kenny David, a 42-year-old miner from 5 Miles Arakaka, North West District, is currently under investigation in connection with the tragic event.

 

According to initial inquiries, the suspect and the victim were acquainted with each other. On the fateful night, the suspect was passing along the main access road when the victim called out to him.

 

They proceeded to share drinks together. However, what started as a seemingly ordinary encounter took a grim turn when a heated argument erupted between them.

 

In the midst of the altercation, the suspect allegedly drew a knife from his waist and inflicted a stab wound to the victim’s left chest.

 

Law enforcement authorities were promptly alerted to the scene.

 

Upon their arrival, the suspect, who remained at the location, was identified, cautioned, and subsequently taken into custody for further questioning. He remains detained as investigations continue into the incident.

 

Following standard procedures, the victim’s body was transported to the Port Kaituma hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

 

Investigations are ongoing.
